I FOUND DMK
I have to be honest, it wasn’t exactly love at first use with DMK. It wasn’t that I didn’t like the products or the treatments. It was the fact that whilst I had been using professional skin care for a number of years, these particular products had masked some serious problems and boy did DMK uncover them.
So, here is where I say that I can genuinely sympathise with clients who break out or who’s skin begins reacting ways they never had before, BUT, you need to stick with it.
So many people come to me when they start their skin journeys, complaining of breakouts, flakey skin often mistaken for dryness (excessive cell turnover) as well as a whole host of other things. Like most therapists I would have been explained during the consult process & the reasons why they would be occurring, however, we all think its going to be simply amazing from the first treatment and the first use of our product that we blacked out during being told the important stuff (YES, I am guilty of doing this too).
It was July 2009 when I bought DMK into Skinsational & Orange NSW. It was also 8 weeks until I got married, that’s right I have been married to DMK along as I have been married to my husband. I had started using home care a little prior to this and one of the things I personally went through was huge increase in cell turnover on my chin, in short, my chin shed like a snake for months! YES, I got married with a shedding chin. At the time you can imagine how frustrating and horrible this was for a bride, but as life has gone on I have realised that there are far more upsetting and hurtful things life can throw at you & an unsightly chin isn’t that bad. On the plus side, the congestion & breakouts I had suffered on a regular basis had begun to clear and eventually so did my chin.
Fast forward, many treatments later being diligent with my home care use and I couldn’t he happier. The moral to my story is the one thing most people are not good at, commitment! You must be willing to ride the highs and the lows. Story of my skin journey hasn’t ended and it never will, I am now targeting ageing (gasp).
Skin is a factory of cells working together to create the ‘perfect’ outcome, but things do go a little haywire some times. Stress, hormones, hormones, stress, diet, illness, lifestyle all of these things contribute and you must remember that you skin may have been a particular way for a long time and if you think that 1,2,3 treatments is going to fix you dysfunction in your skin, then you are most probably mistaken.
I am in a committed relationship with DMK
